PIR’s banquet at Harrah’s Hotel in Metropolis was a hoot with a great magician and Troy English providing lots of entertainment. Congratulations to all the track champions and trophy winners.
Chris is still hard at work preparing the car for the 2009 racing season. The frame is on the jack stands and the bodywork is underway. The cockpit and decking are complete, the gauges are in, the pedals and master cylinders are mounted and the brake lines are run. The front suspension is on the car and ready for the steering system when the rack is back from rebuild. The quick-change rear end and hubs have been checked, new bearings and races are installed and new birdcages are due soon.
The engine teardown proved the value of AMSOIL. After two full seasons of racing without refreshing the engine, the bearing surfaces, cylinder walls and pistons were virtually free from wear. This result was particularly impressive since the water temperature exceeded 290 degrees on at least two occasions and turned 8400 RPM under race conditions.

THANKS and welcome home to the Soldiers of the 101st who have redeployed and Godspeed to those still deployed. Stay safe
